In Our Care

These dogs are currently in one of our loving foster homes until ready for adoption. Our dogs come to SEVA GRREAT from owners who can no longer care for them, local shelters, or even from Turkey or China thanks to our international rescue partners. Their time in foster care can vary from weeks to months, depending on the dogs’ medical needs. Some need additional time to work through other behavioral issues. When they are available for adoption, those families on our approved waiting list will be notified. We work tirelessly to find the perfect forever home for each golden in our care.

Bentli is an almost 9 year girl who doesn't know she is a "senior". Foster mom calls her a "border collie in a golden retriever body" because she loves to run and play fetch. Bentli is currently available for adoption and needs to be the only dog in the family.

Chance is a sweet 5 year old boy with a seizure disorder. He was recently started on medication and we are monitoring closely to be sure his seizures are well-controlled. We hope he will be ready to find his forever family later this spring.

Rescued with Gracie and Poppy from the same hoarding situation in June 2020. She is progressing socially and gaining confidence every day. She is currently looking for a patient foster to adopt home that will allow her to continue to blossom.

Rescued from a NC shelter in February 2019. She was heartworm positive and had a prolonged recovery from her treatment. She remains in foster care due to multiple medical issues, and may become one of our forever fosters.

Diana just arrived from Turkey on February 7th, and is settling in very well in her foster home. She is approximately 4 years old, in good health, and should be ready for adoption soon.

Rescued from a hoarding situation in June 2020. She was completely unsocialized and is still quite fearful. We are slowly gaining her trust and building her confidence, but anticipate it will still be months before she is ready for adoption.

These girls are retired breeder dogs rescued in November 2020. They will need to be spayed, but this can't be done until after they complete heartworm treatment which will start in March. Ladybug is very fearful but is improving daily. We hope they will be ready for adoption later this summer.

Mindy is a sweet 2-year-old golden mix who arrived from Turkey on February 7th. We are learning more about her as she settles into her foster home, and she is doing very well. We hope she will be ready for adoption soon.

Poppy was also rescued from the same hoarding situation and was completely unsocialized. She remains very fearful, especially when it comes to using a collar/leash or harness. She is slowly gaining confidence thanks to the help of trainers and her patient foster.

Reuben came from the SPCA as a stray, so his background is unknown. While very sweet and friendly, he does have some anxiety and is fearful of other dogs. We are continuing to work on his socialization before he is ready to find his forever home.

Sandy is also a retired breeder dog who was very fearful when she arrived. She has been spayed and is otherwise healthy. She continues to work through her fears, and will soon be adopted by her foster home.

Serbet arrived from Turkey in fall 2020. She was started on medication after an episode of seizure-like activity which has not recurred. Her MRI was normal and she is otherwise healthy. She is 4 years old and very sweet, and should be ready for adoption soon.

Stella is 8 years old and Moose is almost 6, and they are the cutest bonded pair. They have quickly acclimated to their foster home. They will be looking for their forever home in the coming weeks and will be adopted together.

Sweet Susie is 2 years old and was surrendered due to urinary incontinence. She has a malfunctioning bladder sphincter and was treated at NC State with a collagen injection which has helped greatly. She will need a special family to continue her care as additional injections may be needed throughout her life.

Toby is a handsome 2 year old boy who just arrived from Turkey on February 7th. He is doing very well in his foster home as we learn more about him. We hope that he will be avaialble for adoption soon.

Wyatt is 4 years old, rescued from a local shelter. He still has some anxiety/insecurities and tends to become stressed in new situations. His foster has been working with a trainer to build his confidence, and we hope he will be ready for adoption soon.
